The purpose of this paper is to define, describe and offer an explanation of my thoughts, nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm, feelings, and nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm concerning the four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm and how they relate to each other as they inform and guide my current nursing profession.

In other words, this paper is my philosophical view of the four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm. Nursing philosophies are based on an individual.

The four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm are subject to personal beliefs and opinions. I also have my own thoughts feelings and beliefs concerning the concepts of the nursing metaparadigm, which I have summarized as follows:. The concept of person is centered on the patient in need of care.

A person needs more than physical or bodily care. All aspects of their being — body, mind, and soul, also need to be given equal attention. Individual patients have their own beliefs, customs, or wishes that also need to be considered in the event of care.

A person cannot be said to be cured of their injuries acquired from an accident is their mental health is not catered to. A nurse is always supposed to make sure that they do not feel like they are alone.

Anyone closely related to the patient is also in need of care. The families and friends of the patients also need to be comforted, especially when their loved ones face a life-threatening procedure or event. They need someone to help them to hope for the best but also who tells them how to prepare for the worst.

Nurses should always seek to check in with their patients to ensure that they follow the process that will lead them to complete recovery and healing. If a person was admitted as a result of a drug overdose, nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm, the nurse needs to take their time to talk to them to find out what contributed to the drug abuse in the first place. They should do this from a non-judgmental point of view so that the patient does not feel rejected. They should also go ahead and recommend the help of other healthcare professionals.

The environment constitutes the internal and external surroundings of the patient. The same environment has an impact on the nurses administering the treatment as well. Environmental factors such as smell, nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm, sound, light, nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm, mood and atmosphere may determine the comfort of the patient.

The hospital needs to feel more like home and not have factors that may cause stress to the patients. The environment should be serene, with the absence of loud or sudden noises that may disrupt the prevailing peace. A good environment also entails the general mood exuded by the nurses and other staff.

Nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm need to be encouraged by positivity and kindness and genuine concern. If the nurses show up to work feeling low, the patient will also not be as optimistic as they should concerning their healing process.

They should also not be allowed to feel like a bother to the nurses because this will hinder them from opening up to the nurses. Whatever the nurses talk about in the presence of the patients can also affect them, especially if it concerns tragic incidences such as the death of another patient within the hospital.

Health refers to the general wellbeing of the patient. It surpasses the aspect of curing an illness. Good health can be achieved by taking a holistic approach that is built around the mind, body, and soul. Health can be ascertained by constantly assessing the patients to make sure that progress is significant and progressive. Healthy habits yield the most when incorporated into the aspects of a good environment.

Nursing refers to the way a nurse applies his or her knowledge and skills to the care of patients. It is also the general attributes of the one administering the care. Nurses need to have a good relationship with their patients.

When the patient feels free around the nurse, they will be more receptive to the treatments and will be responsive when their contribution or input is required of them.

Nursing, unlike other careers, is not a matter of applying knowledge into practice. It is something that not everyone can do because it requires a lot of patience and stamina.

Nursing means being nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm strength and hope of fainthearted patients and their families and friends. All concepts of the nursing metaparadigm are interconnected, and one cannot exist without the other. The whole aspect of nursing exists because there is a patient who needs to be cared for. For one to say that a patient has been taken good care of, they will have to assess the health of the patient.

Nursing calls for a change in the environment. It means that the patient should be secluded from the harsh environment and into one that will favor their recovery and healing process. The nursing theories I find to be the most compatible with my personal nursing philosophy. I believe that nurses should always give their patients the best environment possible. The nurse should act like they are the host, and the patients are the guests, and so should make them as comfortable as they can.

I do not take nursing as a component, but rather as a term that encompasses the three concepts — patient, nursing philosophy paper metaparadigm, environment, and health.

Nursing is the collective term used to describe the process in which a nurse gives the best treatment to the patient while controlling the environment to make it suitable for their recovery.

The four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm all contribute to the ideal nursing practice. They offer nurses the guidelines to follow when administering treatment to patients in a holistic way. These four concepts can be applied by individual nurses based on their philosophies. These concepts are all interconnected, in that it is difficult to have one without the other three. They are just elements of the nursing profession that can be used to inform the practice to ensure that there is some form of uniformity.
